The Mad Hatter cordially invites you to a Tea Party with a difference in aid of Oxfam’s Oxjam

Prepare yourself for a night of beautiful hats, cheshire cats, tea-martini's, wonderful music and lots of special surprises!! Once you've stepped through the looking glass who knows what will be awaiting you.....

The Circle Bar (348 Clapham Road, SW9 9AR) will be transformed into a Wonderland beyond your wildest dreams on Saturday 14th November as part of Oxfam’s Oxjam initiative. A night filled with nonsense looms: have a jig with Tweedledum and Tweedledee, follow the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole, take tea-tini’s with the Queen of Hearts and of course, beware the Jaborwock!!

An eclectic bill of musicians has been confirmed so bring your dancing shoes and prepare to be enchanted:

“Genuinely innovative” Summer Holiday top the bill (http://www.myspace.com/summerholidaymusic) described by Radio 1’s Steve Lamacq as ‘proper amazing’. Modestly describing themselves as ‘Tesco Value Scissor Sisters’ they weave saxophone, trombone and violin in to their original indie sound which will enhance the Wonderland vibe of the evening.

XFM favourite White Collar Weapons follow (http://www.myspace.com/whitecollarweapons) - described as being ‘sweetly melodic, yet exploding into bursts of noise with a ferocity that make Gallows look slack’, you cannot fail to be impressed by one of the best unsigned acts around today.

Extremely talented songwriter Elka (who wrote ‘Gone’ for Madonna’s ‘Music’ album) will be warming up the evening with her lounge/pop style, the perfect accompaniment to a cupcake and some advice from the caterpillar. (http://www.myspace.com/elkauk)

Othay and the Wilderness will also present traditional American folk from the early 1900's, Americana and blugrass standards, and DJ Jonny Clark will be playing some Alice in Wonderland inspired remixes. (http://www.myspace.com/opheyandthewilderness)

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
